From nappies to night flights, here’s what I never travel without
Travelling with babies and toddlers can feel like a military operation… but with a little planning (and a few clever items), it really can be manageable and even enjoyable!
Whether you’re hopping on a plane or heading off in the car on a big journey, here are some of my tried-and-tested travel essentials to help it all go as smoothly as possible:
1. The Packing Cube Hack
Pop a small packing cube into your hand luggage with swimwear, mini suncream, a sunhat and a spare outfit for your little one. That way, if your luggage is delayed or you can’t check into your room straight away, you’ve got everything you need for the pool or beach.
2. Comforters with Airtags
If your little one has a favourite soft toy or blanket they can’t sleep without, make sure it’s in your hand luggage (not packed away in a suitcase). If possible, add an Airtag or label it clearly, we all know the heartbreak of losing a beloved comforter on holiday!
3. Reusable Stickers & Small Toys
Reusable stickers, mess-free colouring, and small toys (that don’t make noise!) can be a game-changer on planes, trains or long car journeys. Wrap a few small surprises to keep them entertained and give them something to look forward to during the trip.
4. Milton Wipes
These are always in my changing bag. Perfect for wiping down plane trays, highchairs, changing areas, and giving you a bit of extra peace of mind when you’re on the go.
5. Disposable Changing Mats
Airports and motorway services don’t always have the cleanest baby changing facilities, so I always recommend packing a few disposable mats. They’re handy for public toilets, beaches or anywhere you need to do a quick change.
6. Blankets & Layers
Airports and planes can be chilly even in the height of summer. A soft blanket can double up as a feeding cover, snuggly wrap or pillow. Pack a few light layers so you can adjust to temperature changes easily.
7. Spare Clothes (For Everyone!)
It’s not just your baby who needs spares… I always say pack a change of top for yourself too, especially on flights! Accidents happen, and you’ll feel much better being able to freshen up if needed.
8. Snacks, Snacks, Snacks
Pack snacks in small, resealable bags for easy access and minimal mess. Fruit pouches, rice cakes, or whatever your little one enjoys, snacks are your secret weapon when delays hit or mealtimes don’t go to plan. Another great tip for flying or if your little ones get travel sick are Tonstix Travel Pops which have been developed to settle and soothe.

Every journey is different, and it won’t always go perfectly, but being prepared can make a world of difference. And if sleep routines go a little off track while you’re away? Don’t worry. With the right support, we can gently guide things back on course when you return.
Safe travels and enjoy making beautiful memories
Love,
